In this Registered Nurse Band 6 role at Savernake Community Hospital, you will provide 24‑hour Sub‑Acute, Rehabilitation and End‑of‑Life care on the Savernake Ward.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse Band 6 to join our integrated multi‑disciplinary team. Clinical leadership is provided by Consultant Nurses; your ward leadership will be delivered by a Ward Manager who champions compassionate leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
- Supervise and support Nursing Associates, Junior staff, and students.
- Deliver high standards of care, share best practice, and actively contribute to continuous improvement.
- Provide compassionate support to patients and their families at every stage of the healthcare journey.
- RN (Adult) registered with NMC.
- Experience in community nursing, including end‑of‑life care.
- Competent in Mckinley syringe drivers, medication administration, catheter management (male and supra‑pubic), wound care, and IV antibiotics.
- Experience with the electronic patient record system SystmOne.
- Ability to work autonomously and support junior staff through supervision.
- Evidence of leadership and ability to lead practice development and caseload management.
- Strong communication skills and cultural competence.
- Awareness of current NHS changes and up‑to‑date professional knowledge.
- Capability to make decisions and judgments within a community setting.
- Motivation to work flexible, 7‑day shifts, including day, evening, night, weekends and bank holidays.
- Willingness to work in other areas of the Trust or trust‑wide as required.
- Valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle or equivalent mobility.
- Availability for a flexible rota and seven‑day service delivery.
