Make a real difference to patient care – before it even begins. We’re looking for a highly organised and personable Ward Administrator to be the welcoming first point of contact across BSW (Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire) Community Hospitals. In this vital role, you’ll help ensure patients experience a smooth, well‑coordinated journey from admission through to discharge. You will deliver a professional and efficient service to patients, members of the public, colleagues, and external professionals via telephone, email, and post. Working closely with the nursing and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll provide comprehensive administrative support that keeps the ward running efficiently – freeing up clinicians to focus on delivering outstanding patient care.
The role is based at Savernake Hospital and is a part‑time position, working 30 hours per week.

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous administration experience, ideally within a busy or customer‑facing environment
- Experience using IT systems with confidence and accuracy
- Excellent keyboard and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clearly with colleagues and service users both verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle information with discretion, sensitivity, and strict confidentiality
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
- NVQ Level 2 in Administration and/or Customer Services
- Previous experience within health or social care settings
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Familiarity with clinical systems or healthcare databases
