Main Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality clinical care to patients registered and attending the GP surgery and work closely with clinical leads and local practice team to support surgical operational plan.
- Maintain quality within the practice, participating in clinical governance activity and contributing to quality health outcomes through audit, QOF and other quality standards including CQC standards.
- Provide clinical care as described in the job plan and within the total triage model, including consultation sessions (in person and by video), telephone triage, correspondence, results, medication reviews, prescription signing, clinical administration, safeguarding lead, medicals, reports, home visits, surgery meetings, and on‑call (excluding out‑of‑hours).
- Adhere to the highest personal and professional standards set out by the GMC and prioritize individual patient care.
- Work with the Practice Manager and site clinical lead to develop, deliver and review the surgery action plan—including list growth, patient satisfaction, QOF, enhanced services, KPI targets, resource profile, and cost management.
- Take part in leading key disease areas (monitoring trends in QOF, Diabetes 8 Care Processes, Triple Target control, immunisation uptake, screening uptake, local KPIs, staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services for a diverse patient list, including NHS Choices and GP Patient Survey, patient participation and health promotion.
- Hold responsibility for overall practice performance, delivering care aligned with contracted values locally and nationally, and represent Operose Health in local GP Federation meetings.
- Partner with the practice manager to meet all CQC, local and contracted requirements.
- Investigate SEA and incidents, feed back findings and establish a strong safety culture.
Ideal Candidate
- Current registration with GMC and NHS performers list and engaged in regular clinical work.
- Experienced doctor with GP accreditation – MRCGP examination or equivalent experience.
- Clear commitment to delivering quality and patient‑focused services.
- Sound knowledge of QOF, LCS, DES, CQUINs and use of appropriate coding.
- Ideally have working knowledge of clinical systems such as SystmOne or EMISweb.
