About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Catering Assistant to join our busy Hospital Catering Team on a bank basis. You will play an important role in supporting patient wellbeing by helping deliver high quality food and refreshments within a safe, hygienic and caring environment. The role will support both patient catering services and the hospital restaurant. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in delivering excellent service and can work efficiently within a busy environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients, staff and visitors
- Deliver patient meals accurately, professionally and courteously
- Assist with basic food preparation and stock rotation
- Maintain cleanliness within kitchen, dining and service areas
- Follow food safety, hygiene and infection prevention procedures at all times
- Operate catering equipment safely and responsibly
- Support the catering team during busy service periods
- Wash utensils, trays and kitchen equipment
- Ensure dietary requirements and allergen procedures are followed correctly
