Make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families living with ADHD. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Band 6 ADHD Assessor to join our specialist team, delivering high-quality assessment and post-diagnostic support within a community setting. In this role, you will carry out ADHD assessments and provide post-diagnostic support to individuals and groups, managing a specialist caseload and maintaining accurate clinical records. You’ll work with professional supervision available to support formulation and diagnostic decision-making, while also contributing to continuous professional development, clinical audit, research activity and service improvement. The post holder will support the development of others through training, clinical supervision and supporting students, helping to strengthen and grow the service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician who is committed to evidence-based practice, collaborative working and delivering positive outcomes for service users.
Base: You will be primarily based at St Martins Hospital, with a hybrid working model in place. The role will also require the ability to travel to locations across Wiltshire, B&NES and Swindon as needed.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessment and post-diagnostic support for individuals and groups as part of the designated ADHD team, with access to appropriate clinical supervision for formulation and diagnosis.
- Provide specialist consultation and advice to mental health teams and partner agencies supporting the client group.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and manage caseloads using agreed systems, contributing to agreed team duties as required.
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and trust-wide ADHD service meetings.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Practice in line with the relevant professional code of conduct and maintain registration with the appropriate body.
- Contribute to the development and review of local and trust-wide policies and procedures relating to ADHD diagnostic services.
- Maintain high standards of clinical practice through ongoing CPD, networking and collaborative working.
- Participate in annual performance appraisal and service development activities.

Person Specification:
- A recognised professional qualification in Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Speech and Language Therapy.
- Current HCPC or NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience within front-line adult mental health services, including assessment and delivery of interventions.
- Experience working within an ADHD service or mental health team supporting individuals with ADHD.
- Strong understanding of ADHD assessment processes and relevant support pathways.
- Effective team player with excellent communication and liaison skills.
- Well organised with strong administrative and time-management abilities.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach when engaging with service users.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively in a pressurised environment.
- Confident working both independently and autonomously, with good self-awareness and emotional resilience.
