Our Client is a newly registered 4-bed residential children's home that supports children and young people aged 7-17 who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs. The mission is to create a safe, nurturing, and consistent home where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their potential. The Role

We are seeking caring, resilient, and motivated Residential Support Workers. You will play a vital role in the daily lives of our young people, helping them to develop life skills, build resilience, and achieve their goals within a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new home during its early stages and make a real difference to children's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in accordance with their individual care and placement plans.
  • Build trusting, positive relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and personal growth.
  • Support children with daily routines, including education, leisure, health, and independent living skills.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour through understanding, empathy, and therapeutic approaches such as PACE.
  • Contribute to the completion of risk assessments, incident reports, and care documentation.
  • Work closely with colleagues and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every young person.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision to support professional development.
  • Be part of the on-call and sleep-in rota, responding effectively to any emergencies or incidents.

Essential Criteria

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it within 2 years).
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a residential or social care setting.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, EBD, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and record-keeping skills.
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
  • Undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
  • Training in Safeguarding, First Aid, or de-escalation techniques.
  • Familiarity with The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.
