Job Description
Field Service Engineer – EPOS, IT and AV equipment
Basic salary: £32300 + Fully expensed Co Van, Tools, Uniform, Phone etc. + on call and overtime payments.
Looking for an experienced Field Engineer to be trained to service all of the technical equipment in a client’s shops.
This role is to primarily cover the West of London area A3 / M3 / M4 Corridors area, the patch is roughly Basingstoke to Reading to Guildford to Twickenham to Wembley.
Technically a really varied role, as you are working in the client’s own stores, you support all of the equipment from the EPOS / till systems, back-office IT and its associated network infrastructure, to the RF reception equipment (aerials and satellite dishes) and all the AV equipment – decoders, TV screens, speakers and even occasionally the security CCTV equipment.
Training and support given to a Field Engineer with transferable experience.
Standard hours are 40 hours per week, on 10-hour shift 0900 – 1900, working 4x days out of 7.You must be flexible to cover weekends, 1 weekend on 1 weekend off. Overtime is paid for all hours outside of this.
On call covers emergency situations, outside of your core hours. The shops are open 0800 – 2200.There is an additional £30 per day On Call payment + payment for any additional hours worked (there is currently no requirement for new Engineers to join on call rota in the South East team).
In this role you will learn to service and maintain the full IT, EPOS and AV systems, and occasionally do new store openings projects.
Candidates for this role must:
- have a full manual UK drivers’ licence with no more than 6 points.
- be able to pass a DBS (criminal records check).
- have previous experience as an EPOS or AV or IT / Networking Field Engineer.
- be located within the Basingstoke to Reading to Guildford to Twickenham to Wembley area.
