Job Description

Commercial Manager – IT Services / MSP background

£50-55k per annum.

Work in the Cardiff office.

Mon – Fri 9 – 17:30

Looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to work for a Managed Services Provider, with excellent financial knowledge able to assist the Commercial Director in existing and future contract; pricing, renewals, RFP's, Bid / Tender process, reports etc. To ensure margin and revenue.

Main Tasks and Objectives

  • To be the first point of contact for pricing when tendering for new and existing business (Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and contract renewals) and co-ordinate the bid process.
  • To create pricing models based on the customer requirements and the Company’s ability to provide profitable business.
  • To support the Commercial Director with the contract management and governance of new and existing commercial relationships to ensure commitments on both sides are delivered.
  • To draft contracts and addenda from first stage through to conclusion of the bid process. To lead the delivery of new and existing commercial agreements to adequately balance risk and to ensure that all T&Cs are incorporated into all associated collateral and correspondence documents.
  • To liaise internally with senior account managers and business development managers at all stages during the tender and contract processes.
  • To liaise with operational departments and finance to cost contract activities.
  • To analyse contract and services profitability in conjunction with the finance department to ensure that the Company is meeting its budget expectations, driving margin improvement and revenue growth.
  • To prepare internal and external reports using a variety of different data sources and systems and ensuring the accuracy of the output.
  • To provide a source of expertise in carrying out market research.
  • To maintain an awareness of developments in legal fields relevant to the commercial contracts of the business.
  • To undertake any other duties for which the commercial manager is requested from time to time by the management team.

In addition to the above duties the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances.

Requirements/Skills

  • Must have good presentation skills.
  • Strong communication both verbal and written.
  • High level of computer literacy including use of Microsoft excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of analytical, numerical and evaluation skills.
  • Must be organised, self-driven and proactive.
  • Relevant commercial experience in services industry
  • Significant background in IT Services arena
  • Experience of pricing and tender processes
  • Contract and or project costing and profitability analysis
  • Experience of reporting and presenting information to interested parties
  • Experience of carrying out research activities in order to achieve a business goal
  • Experience of dealing with an environment of change
