We are currently recruiting for a passionate Room Manager to join our clients wonderful Nursery. You must be dedicated to ensure your room runs smoothly.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver the highest care and education standards.
  • Support and carry out 1-1 meetings and supervisions to check staff knowledge and understanding of Policies and Procedures and child development and EYFS.
  • In line with our standards for pedagogy, lead and support the curriculum to ensure a child-centred approach.
  • Ensure the observation and planning process meets the needs of all children in line with the Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures and legislation from governing bodies.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with all stakeholders of the nursery.
  • Support and manage Keeping Everyone Safe policies and procedures.
  • Be the lead Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery.
  • Contribute to succession planning and delivery of relevant training.
  • Fulfil roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children.
  • Work as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed.
  • Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers.
  • Ensure commercial success of the nursery by maintaining expenditure in line with FTEs and budget KPIs.
  • Engage with the Local Authority to support practice in all areas of the nursery.
  • Continue personal professional development to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date.
  • Provide support for colleagues within the nursery and across the broader business.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions for continuous professional development.

Responsible for:

  • Providing strong and clear line management for a Nursery team.
  • Planning and demonstrating efficient staff deployment.
  • Ensuring strong performance management and monitoring processes.
  • Leading a Health and Safety Culture.
  • Providing an environment focused on customer and practitioner engagement.
  • Undertaking regular 1-1/supervision meetings with staff.
  • Taking responsibility for own personal and professional development.
  • Ensuring children's records and files are kept up to date and accurate.
  • Working with NM to ensure safer recruitment policies are adhered to.

Essential Experience:

  • Working in collaboration with colleagues and the Nursery Manager.
  • A strong record of ongoing training and/or professional qualifications.
  • Proven experience in early years education settings.
  • Strong decision-maker with the ability to support change.
  • Experience of providing support and leadership to a staff team.
  • Current 12hrs Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

Desirable Experience:

  • Leading teams through coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience of budget management and efficient staff deployment.
  • Knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience.

Qualifications:

  • Full and relevant level 3 qualification (essential).
  • 12 hours paediatric first aid and first aid at work (essential).
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent (ideal).
  • Relevant safeguarding/child protection training (essential).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Undergraduate or Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies (Desirable).
  • EYPP/EYTT or QTS post graduate status (Desirable).
  • Full, clean driving licence and flexibility to travel as necessary.
