We are currently recruiting for a passionate Room Manager to join our clients wonderful Nursery. You must be dedicated to ensure your room runs smoothly.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver the highest care and education standards.
- Support and carry out 1-1 meetings and supervisions to check staff knowledge and understanding of Policies and Procedures and child development and EYFS.
- In line with our standards for pedagogy, lead and support the curriculum to ensure a child-centred approach to operating all aspects of the nursery.
- Ensure the observation and planning process meets the needs of all children in line with the Quality Assurance Framework.
- Ensure internal policies and procedures and legislation from governing bodies are adhered to.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with all stakeholders of the nursery and wider community including parents, professionals and colleagues.
- Support and manage Keeping Everyone Safe policies and procedures.
- Be the lead Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery and hold overall responsibility for safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Contribute to succession planning, identification and delivery of relevant training, and additional requirements for personal development plans.
- Ensure that all staff have read, understood and implemented the Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure that Child Protection training is completed every two years as set out in the Child Protection Policy.
- Work as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands.
- Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers.
- Ensure commercial success of the nursery by maintaining expenditure in line with FTEs and budget KPIs.
- Engage with the Local Authority to support practice in all areas of the nursery.
- Continue personal professional development to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date.
- Provide support for colleagues within the nursery and across the broader business when required.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
- Provide strong and clear line management for a Nursery team including mentoring of the wider leadership team.
- Plan and demonstrate a clear understanding of efficient staff deployment.
- Ensure strong and effective performance management and monitoring processes.
- Lead a Health and Safety Culture ensuring robust procedures are followed.
- Provide an environment focused on customer and practitioner engagement.
- Undertake regular 1-1/supervision meetings with staff to plan and provide suitable professional development activities.
- Take responsibility for own personal and professional development.
- Ensure children's records and files are kept up to date and accurate.
- Work with NM to ensure safer recruitment policies and procedures are adhered to for all staff.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience of working in early years education settings with successful management.
- Strong decision-maker with the ability to support change.
- Experience of providing support and leadership to a staff team.
- Current 12hrs Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Desirable:
- Leading teams through coaching and mentoring.
- Experience of budget management and managing commercial performance.
- Knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Full and relevant level 3 qualification (essential).
- 12 hours paediatric first aid and first aid at work (essential).
- Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent (ideal).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Undergraduate or Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies or other relevant subject (Desirable).
- EYPP/EYTT or QTS post graduate status (Desirable).
- Full, clean driving licence and flexibility to travel as necessary.
