We are seeking an experienced Operational Communications Manager to join the team. This is a vital new role, instrumental in bringing the brand strategy to life in our pubs, enabling Marston's to create an environment for guests to share good times. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a background in retail or hospitality, particularly with experience of working with partnerships or franchises. This role reports into the Head of Operational Excellence and involves overseeing all operational communications. Your mission will be to ensure our communication strategies are seamlessly executed across various teams and departments. As our Communications Manager, you'll unify our internal communications, enhance our new brand formats, and drive digital transformation, ensuring our messages reach every corner of the organisation consistently. This is an agile role, working across our pub estate stretching from Inverness to the coast of Cornwall, so you’ll need to hold a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle. You’ll be working from our modern offices in the centre of Wolverhampton for a minimum of 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with teams from Corporate Affairs, Commercial, Marketing, IT, and HR to maintain consistent and aligned messaging.
- Create and manage a live operating calendar and clear operational cascade plan to keep our pubs informed and up to date.
- Facilitate and prioritize initiative launches to ensure they are successfully executed at our pubs.
- Coordinate messaging during operational incidents or emergencies, ensuring clear communication among all relevant stakeholders.
- Partner with Corporate Affairs to manage internal communication channels and platforms.
- Lead key engagement events such as Operational Conferences and the Pub of the Year Awards.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our communication strategies, making adjustments to enhance outcomes.
- Develop communication materials, including presentations, reports, and other essential documents.
- Promote a culture of open and transparent communication within the organization.
