A highly specialist educational setting is seeking an experienced and committed BSL Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support young learners with complex needs, including significant sensory impairments, SEND, and physical and medical needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide communication support using British Sign Language (BSL Level 3 minimum)
  • Support learners with sensory impairments and complex SEND needs across the school day
  • Assist with personal care routines in a respectful and professional manner
  • Support learners with feeding and mobility needs
  • Participate in hydrotherapy and swimming sessions, including entering the swimming pool to support learners safely
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical professionals
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • BSL Level 3 qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs
  • Confidence working with learners with physical, medical, and sensory impairments

Full training will be provided for feeding, hoist operation, and other specialist care procedures. However, applicants must be comfortable undertaking these responsibilities as part of the role.
