We are working with a well-regarded primary school in Surrey that is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their inclusion team. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with a range of additional needs across the primary age range. You will be working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional needs both in class and in targeted interventions. The role will involve supporting learning, promoting engagement, and helping pupils access the curriculum in a way that meets their individual needs. This role is available to start ASAP or after the May half term and will continue through to the end of the academic year, with potential to extend into the following academic year.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities
- Supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
- Helping implement EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Providing feedback on pupil progress and development
