We are recruiting for a passionate and experienced SEN TA for a brand new primary SEN school in West London. This school is part of a well-established and highly-regarded group of educational settings for students with varying SEN needs across London. The needs of the students in this KS1 and KS2 school are predominantly Autism and ADHD. The ideal candidate for this role is somebody with previous SEN TA experience in a primary setting, supporting students with Autism and using a variety of AAC methods.
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students across Key Stages 1 and 2 with ASC and ADHD.
- Use a variety of AAC methods to support students who may not be able to communicate effectively using mainstream/neurotypical methods.
- Support the academic and personal development of students, fostering resilience and independence.
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other support workers to deliver a consistent approach to behaviour and learning support.
- Facilitate hands-on activities and structured interventions to promote social skills, confidence, and positive engagement.
Ideal Candidate Profile / Qualifications
- Previous experience in a primary SEN setting, supporting students with ASC and ADHD on a 1:1, 2:1 or small group basis.
- A can-do attitude towards classroom support, eager to use initiative to support the class teacher as and where needed.
- A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
