The Role
As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting. You’ll play a central role in coordinating the month-end close process while supporting the wider finance function with technical guidance and day-to-day accounting activities. This is a hands-on role with broad exposure across the group, offering the opportunity to contribute to a growing and evolving business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts
- VAT returns
- Support the team for technical help and queries
- Answer calls & e-mails for the finance teams' shared inboxes and phone lines
- Weekly and monthly reporting to the wider business
- Assist with the credit control
- Maintain balance sheet recs and month end journals
- Help with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Assist and complete ad hoc requests
- Variance analysis
- Assist the payroll function
About You
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and motivated to add value within a fast-paced and growing group environment. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- ACCA or CIMA qualification (preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
- Good working knowledge of payroll processes and financial systems
- Excellent Excel skills and confidence using accounting software such as Sage or Xero
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage deadlines and coordinate effectively with stakeholders across the business
- A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential financial information
