The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to play a key role in designing and delivering innovative, production-ready electronic systems for cutting-edge electro-optical and autonomous technologies used in defence and security environments worldwide. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will take ownership of complex projects from concept through to deployment, working across disciplines to create tightly integrated, high-performance products. You will tackle technically challenging, real-world problems while seeing the direct operational impact of your work, gaining autonomy, responsibility and exposure to advanced technologies within a collaborative and high-performing engineering team.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • System Design & Development: Develop robust electronics systems for electro-mechanical and optoelectronic products.
  • PCB Design & Prototyping: Design and prototype PCB layouts (using Altium or KiCAD), perform hands-on debugging and validate systems. You will also use simulation tools comprising LTSpice, MATLAB and Ansys, as well as MCAD tools such as Inventor and SolidWorks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, software, firmware and systems engineers to deliver fully integrated solutions.
  • Verification & Compliance Support: Support verification, compliance, and certification activities for product deployment.
  • Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior engineers, review designs and share best practice within the team.
  • Supply Chain & Component Management: Engage with suppliers to manage component obsolescence and introduce new technologies.
  • Field Support & Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting and support of fielded systems and customer technical queries.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Attention to Detail & Quality: High attention to detail and a commitment to quality in everything you do.
  • Electronics & Hardware Expertise: Strong experience in industry in electronics and hardware design.
  • Production-Ready Delivery: Proven experience delivering production-ready electronic systems.
  • Schematic Capture & Hardware Debugging: Confident in schematic capture, PCB layout, system diagrams and hardware debugging.
  • Hands-On PCB & Prototyping Skills: PCB design capability with practical hands-on skills such as soldering, rework and prototype assembly.
  • Technical Curiosity & Innovation: Technically curious and creative with a passion for solving real-world problems.
