We're looking for a Maintenance Coordinator who combines practical maintenance work with organised admin support to keep our facilities running smoothly. The role will help with internal capability, managing suppliers, and may require some out‑of‑hours availability.
To support the day‑to‑day operation of our facilities, this role blends hands‑on maintenance (60%) with administrative coordination (40%), ensuring a safe, efficient and well‑maintained working environment. It will strengthen our in‑house capability, reducing reliance on external contractors, while effectively coordinating maintenance activities and managing supplier relationships. Occasional out‑of‑hours support may be required.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine facilities checks, including fire safety checks (emergency lighting, fire doors, extinguishers and emergency exits)
- Support the Facilities Manager in coordinating contractors for maintenance, servicing and repairs
- Undertake general building maintenance and improvements including hands‑on "handyperson" tasks
- Help to update accurate records and documentation, including policies and risk assessments
- Respond to ad‑hoc enquiries and maintenance requests via phone and email
- Support ongoing site security activities and contribute to audit readiness
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a trade role (e.g. electrical, plumbing, building or general maintenance)
- Experience in joinery, including carrying out repairs, adjustments and small installation works
- An awareness of UK Health and Safety legislation
- Strong manual handling awareness
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using basic computer systems (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
- Previous experience using hand tools confidently
- Strong team player with a solution‑focused mindset
- Good time and task management skills to flex at short notice between hands‑on and desk‑based tasks as needed
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external contractors/suppliers
- Good attention to detail
