The Technical Project Manager is accountable for overseeing the successful execution of complex technology initiatives within the Enterprise IT & Data program. Acting as a vital link between technical experts and business stakeholders, this role ensures that project solutions are implemented effectively, risks are proactively managed, and tangible business value is achieved. Success in this position requires the ability to cultivate strong professional relationships, rapidly grasp diverse technical concepts, and clearly articulate their implications to audiences without a technical background. This is a permanent, hybrid role, based in our Swindon office, with the requirement to be in the office 3 days a week.

  • Bonus scheme – on target bonus 10%

Key Accountabilities

  • Project Delivery: Plan, manage, and deliver multiple technology projects to agreed scope, time, and budget. Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across IT, data, and business functions. Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Technical Understanding & Communication: Translate technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language. Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive alignment and decision-making. Ability to understand complex technical topics and their interdependencies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders. Influence and negotiate to ensure project objectives are met. Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly and proactively.
  • Governance & Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is up to date and compliant with internal standards. Track and report on key project metrics and KPIs. Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Demonstrable experience managing complex technical projects in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, data integration, and enterprise IT systems.
  • Project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles and delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Understanding of change management principles within technology environments.
  • Excellent vendor and stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Conflict and resolution skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous or high-pressure environment.
  • Strategic planner with the ability to align project goals with broader business objectives and anticipate future challenges.
  • A robust decision maker with the ability to make informed choices under pressure.
