As the Mortgage and Protection Proposition Consultant, you will support the management of the Openwork and Owl M&P Propositions function, to ensure products and services offered to clients are developed and managed effectively, aligned to corporate strategy and high standards of governance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Operational management and delivery of key areas of the M&P Proposition to provide control and oversight of proposition development, management and promotion.
- Work with the M&P Proposition Managers to manage the relationships with product providers and lenders.
- Ensuring there is a suitable relationship governance framework in place to monitor and evaluate the performance of the providers / lenders.
- Bring forward new development ideas and other opportunities with providers that will enhance the M&P Proposition and drive great outcomes for advisers and their clients.
- Undertake due diligence on initial appointment of new provider / lenders and on an ongoing basis.
- Work with the product governance team to undertake proposition reviews for M&P products, owning the actions and seeing them through the appropriate governance committees.
- Maintain proposition documentation (panel rationale, provider profiles, review logs, contracts) and contribute to procedure and control improvements to support audit readiness.
- Act as a point of contact for adviser proposition queries and feedback; identify themes and ensure improvements are prioritised and delivered.
- Undertake research activity across the M&P industry – products, competitors, consumers and our own data to inform proposition development.
- Ensuring M&P proposition content on adviser and colleague portals / Teams channels is up to date and accessible.
- Managing the regular provider webinar programme to support adviser knowledge and education.
- Ownership of MI including distribution of this to relevant parties.
- Coordinate and track proposition change activity (e.g., provider/product changes, new tools/content releases), ensuring appropriate review, communication and evidence of sign-off.
What will you need to succeed?
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Mortgage & Protection within a regulated financial services environment, preferably in an advisory capacity or in a role supporting advisers and their clients.
- Experience of engaging with mortgage and protection providers, with understanding of processes, systems and expectations from their distributors.
- Strong analytical capability with experience producing MI and insight packs, using data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Experience creating impactful communications collateral for advisers and / or clients.
- Qualifications: Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) desirable; commitment to maintain CPD and complete mandatory regulatory training.
KNOWLEDGE
- Strong overall knowledge of the financial services industry.
- The Mortgage and Protection advice process.
- The types of products offered by Openwork / Owl and the financial advice market advisers operate in.
- Lender / provider systems and processes.
- The regulatory environment including MCOBs, ICOBS, Consumer Duty.
- Strong data literacy: ability to interpret and challenge MI, define measures and spot trends/anomalies to inform action.
- Experience and sound knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

- Positive, resourceful and self-motivated individual capable of working autonomously, with a strong ‘can do’ attitude.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to challenge constructively and gain consensus across teams and providers.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and change activity, prioritising effectively and delivering to deadlines.
- Confident facilitator, able to run meetings, workshops and provider reviews and capture clear actions/decisions.
- Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working with ambiguity and responding quickly to emerging risks/issues.
- Willingness to travel to meet providers / lenders / advisers.
