Hybrid role based in Swindon - 3 days a week required in the office.

We're looking for a commercially astute leader to support the Commercial Director in driving value creation, commercial performance and strategic decision-making across The Openwork Partnership.

This broad and highly visible role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, finance and business performance.

You'll provide commercial leadership across adviser firm relationships, pricing, profit share arrangements, third-party partnerships and contractual negotiations, ensuring decisions deliver sustainable growth and profitability.

Acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, you'll combine strategic thinking, financial modelling expertise and commercial judgement to help shape the future direction of the network.

This role offers significant exposure to Executive-level decision making and provides a strong platform for future leadership progression.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Partner with the Commercial Director to shape and deliver commercial strategy across the Openwork network.
  • Analyse and model the performance of large adviser firms, identifying opportunities to improve growth, profitability and long-term value.
  • Lead commercial analysis across pricing, profit share arrangements and contractual positions between Openwork and Appointed Representative firms.
  • Evaluate commercial agreements with third-party providers, including insurance and other strategic partners, assessing risk, profitability and P&L impact.
  • Develop sophisticated financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to support strategic decision making.
  • Support network recruitment, succession planning and lending-related commercial initiatives.
  • Contribute to wider strategic activities including M&A evaluations, investor relations and treasury-related projects as required.
  • Navigate complex commercial discussions and negotiate effectively with senior business owners and stakeholders.
  • Translate complex financial and commercial information into clear recommendations for Executive audiences.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Significant experience in Commercial Finance, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Analytics, Business Planning or a similar commercially focused role.
  • Strong financial modelling, investment appraisal and commercial analysis capability.
  • Experience evaluating commercial performance, pricing structures, contractual arrangements and value creation opportunities.
  • Confidence engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, including business owners, Executive teams and governance committees.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think on your feet in complex commercial discussions.
  • Excellent organisation, programme management and prioritisation skills.
  • A strategic, commercially minded approach combined with strong analytical rigour.

Desirable: Experience within financial services, wealth management or other regulated environments.
