This role is a 12 month FTC. We're looking for an experienced and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Proposition Governance, responsible for leading and continually evolving Openwork's proposition governance capability. This is a key role within the business, ensuring our proposition remains robust, compliant, and aligned to both regulatory expectations and our broader strategy. Covering all Openwork products and services across wealth, insurance and mortgages, you'll play an integral part in supporting strong client outcomes and sustainable growth. This is a hybrid role 3 days a week in the Swindon office.

Key Accountabilities

  • Designing, implementing and continuously improving a robust Proposition Governance Framework, aligned to regulatory requirements and group risk appetite
  • Ensuring the Openwork proposition operates in line with FCA expectations and Consumer Duty, supporting good customer outcomes
  • Leading and evolving the Proposition Development & Management Framework, including product review processes
  • Managing key governance forums, including: Proposition Management Committee, Product Review Committee
  • Using market insight, customer data and competitor analysis to inform best practice and future development
  • Providing clear and effective governance reporting to internal committees and boards
  • Acting as an internal champion for proposition governance across the business
  • Building and leading a high‑performing team, supporting capability and succession planning
  • Representing Openwork in relevant external forums and industry engagement

Qualifications

  • Significant experience (c.10+ years) within financial services, operating at a senior proposition or marketing leadership level
  • Strong experience of product proposition development and governance in a regulated environment
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements impacting propositions, including Consumer Duty
  • Broad market knowledge across wealth, insurance and mortgages, including competitor and provider landscape
  • Strong understanding of how advice businesses and advisers operate
  • Experience of supplier selection and commercial negotiation
  • Ability to operate effectively across internal functions and influence at senior level
  • Professional post‑graduate qualification in financial services or marketing (desirable)
  • Strong working knowledge of core systems and tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
