We’re looking for an experienced, forward‑thinking leader to join us as Head of Proposition Governance and shape how Openwork continues to build, manage and evolve its proposition governance capability.
This is a high‑impact opportunity to influence the future of our proposition across wealth, insurance and mortgages. You’ll ensure our approach remains robust, commercially effective and aligned with regulatory expectations, while helping to deliver strong client outcomes and support sustainable growth across the business.
The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with potential to go permanent. It is a hybrid role, with three days a week based in our Swindon office.

- Salary £75,000 to £95,000
- Car allowance – £5,486
- Bonus scheme – on target bonus – 17.5%

What you'll be doing
- Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Openwork’s Proposition Governance Framework, ensuring it remains aligned to regulatory requirements, Consumer Duty and group risk appetite.
- Oversee the Proposition Development & Management Framework, including effective product review processes and governance controls.
- Chair and manage key governance forums, including the Proposition Management Committee and Product Review Committee.
- Use market insight, customer data and competitor analysis to identify opportunities, inform best practice and support strong customer outcomes.
- Provide clear governance reporting to internal committees and boards, acting as a trusted champion for proposition governance across the business.
- Build, lead and develop a high‑performing team while representing Openwork in relevant external forums and industry engagement.
What will you need to succeed?
- Significant senior‑level experience within financial services and product governance.
- A strong track record in proposition development and governance within a regulated environment.
- Excellent understanding of the regulatory landscape, including Consumer Duty and its impact on propositions and customer outcomes.
- Broad knowledge across wealth, insurance and mortgages, including provider, competitor, market and adviser dynamics.
- Experience in supplier selection, commercial negotiation and influencing senior stakeholders, committees and boards.
- A relevant professional or post‑graduate qualification would be advantageous, alongside confidence using Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
