OpenWeb is on a mission to increase the quality of conversations online. We build technologies that create thriving and engaged communities, reduce toxicity, and increase safety — improving the quality of civil discourse and supporting independent journalism. Today, OpenWeb works with more than 5,000 top-tier publishers and hosts 150 million monthly active users. Founded in 2015, OpenWeb has over 250 employees across various locations. We are backed by world-class investors.
About the role: OpenWeb is dedicated to empowering publishers with innovative solutions that drive engagement and foster thriving communities. Our platform works with thousands of publishers globally and turns reader engagement into meaningful, brand-safe and monetisable communities. As we scale our programmatic operations, we’re seeking a versatile and driven professional to join our team in the UK and help lead this next stage of growth.
What You’ll Get To Do:
- Collaborate with product, sales, support and partner success teams to operationalise new product strategies and ensure flawless delivery across new technical implementations.
- Act as the technical and operational anchor for your set portfolio of DSPs / SSPs, maintaining their overall activity and actively pushing new products.
- Monitor overall SSP performance identifying any potential issues and troubleshooting where necessary.
- Identify areas for growth and upselling within the business and push these with the sales, publishers and partner success with the aim of SSP growth.
- Build and maintain robust operational processes, documentation, playbooks and dashboards to support efficient scale-up of programmatic operations.
- Drive quality and compliance: ensure brand-safety, viewability, fraud prevention, latency and user experience standards are met with Demand partners and our brand clients.
- Act as a key interface for new publisher or advertiser integrations: coordinating internal teams (tech, product) and external partners (DSPs/SSPs) to onboard quickly and smoothly.
- Liaise with support to fix key bugs and issues which may unlock crucial demand from DSP/SSP partners.
- Provide regular insights and reporting to senior leadership: e.g. product performance & ROI, revenue yield, operational performance, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Track key KPIs within the programmatic business unit, launching new products and initiatives with key stakeholders.
The Skills and Experience You Bring:
- Minimum of ~3-5 years’ experience in programmatic ad operations, yield optimisation, ad tech, or a related digital monetisation environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business, digital marketing, engineering, related field, or STEM subject.
- Strong grounding in programmatic fundamentals: knowledge of DSPs, SSPs, ad exchanges, header bidding, data strategies, full funnel advertising.
- Proven operational mindset: comfortable managing an account portfolio, troubleshooting in real time, working with data, and supporting scale.
- Technical / analytical capability: ability to interpret operational / campaign data, build dashboards or ad-hoc reporting, identify trends and drive actionable optimisations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and growth mode: you’ll help shape processes and tooling rather than simply follow established routines.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability and quality-oriented mindset.
- Bonus / preferable: Experience with newer formats, first-party data strategies, advanced measurement, or building ad operations in a fast-growing company.
What You’ll Get:
- Competitive salary + benefits + growth opportunities as we scale internationally.
- Be part of a fast-growing, mission-driven company that is transforming the way online communities and content monetisation work.
- Join a team where you will have real operational ownership.
- Cross-functional exposure: you’ll touch product, tech, monetisation, sales, publishers and advertisers.
- Hybrid working model (London) giving flexibility while being close to teams and partners.
