- Overseeing delivery of platform capabilities and services built on AWS, ensuring secure, scalable, and well‑architected solutions.
- Coordinating technical planning and roadmap delivery within the product team.
- Ensuring cloud infrastructure, deployments, and environments are appropriately managed and maintained.
- Championing DevOps practices including CI/CD, observability, automation, infrastructure‑as‑code and shift‑left testing.
- Supporting the team to mature the build‑run‑improve cycle, including release automation, incident response, monitoring and alerting.
- Maintaining delivery plans, sprint goals and release schedules for a long‑lived product team.
- Managing risks, issues, blockers and dependencies related to the platform.
- Acting as the main delivery contact point for team stakeholders including product leads, architects, business owners and other platform consumers.
- Translating technical information into clear delivery decisions and communicating progress effectively.
- An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.)
- Delivery experience within a cloud environment, ideally AWS, including working with teams building or running cloud‑native services.
- Demonstrated experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Experience working within a single multi‑disciplinary agile team delivering continuous increments of value.
- Strong communication skills, able to translate between technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Strong understanding of AWS fundamentals (IAM, VPC, EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation/Terraform).
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer etc.).
- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, containerisation (Docker), or serverless patterns.
- Understanding of SRE concepts (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets) and operational excellence.
- Participation in platform engineering or DevOps communities of practice.
