The Opportunity
We are working with a purpose-led, high-growth eCommerce business to recruit a Product Owner into their Technology team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation where digital platforms sit at the heart of commercial success, supporting both online retail and warehouse fulfilment operations. Reporting into a senior technology leader, you will play a key role in defining product vision, owning the roadmap, and ensuring high-quality delivery across customer-facing and operational systems.
The Role
As Product Owner, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, customers, and engineering teams. You will translate strategic objectives into clear, prioritised requirements and work closely with developers to deliver scalable, customer-centric solutions within an Agile environment. This role follows a hybrid working model, with 3 days per week onsite in Wallingford.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product vision and roadmap, aligned to business goals and customer needs
- Lead backlog refinement and prioritisation, ensuring user stories are clear and delivery-ready
- Translate high-level strategies into detailed requirements and achievable sprint objectives
- Work closely with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Engage with stakeholders and users to gather feedback, define MVPs, and iterate quickly
- Use data and insight to inform prioritisation and decision-making
- Support QA and acceptance testing to ensure high-quality releases
- Provide clear progress updates, milestones, and risk reporting to senior stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into well-defined user stories
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using Jira and Confluence
- Analytical, proactive, and solutions-driven mindset
- Degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Desirable Experience
- CSPO or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience in eCommerce, logistics, or warehouse/fulfilment environments
- Understanding of modern software architecture (e.g. .NET, AWS, cloud platforms)
- Exposure to UX principles and user research
- Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Power BI, or SQL
