OpenSource

We are working with an established UK financial services business that is investing heavily in improving its adviser technology, operational processes and client experience.

They are looking for a Business Analyst who understands how a financial advice business operates and can work across advisers, paraplanners, operations, compliance and technology to deliver meaningful change.

This is a hands on role with a strong focus on improving the end to end adviser journey.

The role

You will work across a number of technology and process improvement initiatives, helping the business understand current ways of working, identify areas of friction and design better solutions.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Mapping existing and future adviser and client journeys
  • Running workshops and discovery sessions with business stakeholders
  • Gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Producing user stories, process maps and acceptance criteria
  • Working closely with technology teams through delivery, testing and implementation
  • Supporting UAT and the rollout of new systems and processes
  • Identifying operational inefficiencies and opportunities for automation
  • Managing risks, dependencies and actions across multiple change initiatives
  • Using data to measure adoption and the impact of delivered changes

What we are looking for

The most important requirement is a strong understanding of the UK financial advice or wealth management sector.

You will ideally have around four or more years of industry experience and a good understanding of the full adviser journey, including areas such as:

  • Client onboarding and fact finding
  • Suitability and advice processes
  • Compliance and regulatory processes

You may already be working as a Business Analyst, or you could have moved into change from a background in paraplanning, adviser support, operations or another role working closely with financial advisers.

You should also have:

  • Experience improving business processes or supporting technology change
  • The ability to translate business problems into practical requirements
  • Experience working with CRM, workflow, back office or client facing technology
  • Strong Excel and general Microsoft 365 skills
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Visio, system migrations, UAT or AI enabled workflow tools would be useful but is not essential.

The opportunity

This would suit someone who understands the realities of working within financial advice and enjoys solving operational problems through a combination of process improvement and technology.

You will have the opportunity to influence how advisers work, improve the client experience and play a key role in a broader programme of business and technology change.
