Overview
Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, two days working from home. Locations - Birmingham, London, Manchester, Bristol.
The Learning & Capability Specialist plays a crucial role in scoping, designing and facilitating Learning, Leadership & Capability products and interventions across BT Group, working with the Senior, Specialist Learning product owners or leading the end-to-end delivery as part of a product portfolio. Provides subject matter expertise to Learning & Capability product owners around effective and innovative design of learning resources and facilitated experiences to achieve product outcomes. A strong focus on customer centricity is essential to ensure that all learning and capability products address business challenges and drive sustainable value for BT Group.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Works as part of a delivery team within a squad, supporting specific activities in the product lifecycle for interventions that drive and enhance colleague experiences across BT Group.
- Supports the product owner on individual products or parts of a larger portfolio and supports in managing a multifunctional delivery team which can include external suppliers.
- Works closely with key stakeholders to identify customer needs and translate them into product requirements and user stories.
- Leads on the definition, scoping, design, development, deployment and facilitation of learning and capability interventions.
- Continuously gathers feedback from end-users and stakeholders to refine products that are value-add and customer-centric.
- Identifies and leverages qualitative and quantitative data and analytics to support the tracking of objectives, product outcomes and impact of learning interventions.
- Measures, monitors and analyses the outcomes and impact of learning products.
- Designs and develops products with a commercial focus, assessing cost and value drivers, developing cost-effective solutions; manages product delivery within budget and reviews return on investment.
- Provides expert facilitation of experiences, or facilitation advice, to a variety of audiences focused on capability uplift.
- Provides individual and group coaching as part of a product offer.
- Provides expertise in behavioural and capability development, alongside deep insights into current theory, best practices, and research, to design and facilitate impactful learning products that drive performance and create meaningful shifts in capability.

- Learning Design, including Digital: Expert at designing and developing learning interventions using best practice methods, including digital solutions, to create efficient and effective learning experiences.
- Learning Evaluation: Defines, measures and interprets learning impact in relation to the organisation’s performance objectives or expectations using quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
- Agile Methodologies: Manages projects by dividing tasks into short phases of work (sprints) and frequently reassesses and adapts plans.
- Behavioural Change: Familiar with behavioural science and behavioural change management.
- Project/Programme Management: Handles a project or portfolio of projects through the typical lifecycle stages including initiation, planning, execution and closure.
- Stakeholder Management: Organises, monitors and improves relationships with stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Connects with others and forms positive relationships.
- Data Analysis: Collects and interprets data to uncover patterns and trends.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously strives to improve products, services, or processes.
- Risk Management: Identifies, evaluates and manages risks by developing and implementing strategies, frameworks, policies, procedures and practices.
