As a Network & OSS Project Manager you will be responsible for defining technical requirements and facilitating delivery of network‑based solutions across large and complex teams covering internal and external stakeholders. Network solutions will typically drive IT, vendor and network change, which will need to converge to deliver value‑adding solutions. Organisation, communication and a growth mindset are the most important attributes for successful candidates. We are a positive, inclusive and forward‑thinking team based in Adastral and supported by offshore colleagues in India. The role is a great opportunity to lead high‑impact, high‑visibility projects spanning technical, commercial and operational domains. This role will be a change‑maker, problem‑solver and facilitator, bridging between the users/stakeholders and the Agile/Waterfall development teams. You will question assumptions and requirements, assess the needs, find gaps, and work closely with the stakeholders/SMEs to detail the requirements, features, user stories, and understand/elicit the requirements. You will work closely with the Product Owners to manage the user stories and epics.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of medium / long‑term network evolution plans for the Tribe.
  • Be the recognised authority for high‑impacting network roadmaps and programmes.
  • May be accountable for managing interaction with a network technology vendor (e.g., Nokia).
  • Accountable for delivery of complex and major change programmes across the network and IT domains (up to ÂŁ2m in capex and ÂŁ10m in benefits).
  • Accountable for ensuring the strategic roadmap and vision is applied/followed within the Tribe.
  • Supports the wider Tribe by guiding on the initial set‑up of squads and creation of squad backlogs.
  • Accountable for managing contention and prioritisation within squads.
  • Responsible for overseeing, resolving and mitigating the tribe/squad‑level risks and issues.
  • Supports the Tribe Lead in managing the tribe’s allocated budget.

Stakeholders and Communication

  • Ensures that stakeholders across internal, external, vendor and supporting functions are aligned, informed and enthused about change projects led by the tribe.
  • Supports the Tribe Lead in keeping stakeholders informed and managing expectations.
  • Engages and works with business users and customers to identify requirements to meet business outcomes or improvements.
  • Balances internal, external, customer and supplier relationships effectively, and across all levels of seniority.

  • 4‑6 years experience working in a technology domain, ideally including networks.
  • Experience of leading and motivating matrix resources.
  • Defining technical strategy, with a proven track record in delivering complex commitments under pressure and tight timescales.
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders to co‑ordinate alignment of complex programmes.
  • Experience of writing and presenting business cases to secure strategic funding.
  • Excellent organising, problem‑solving and negotiation skills to deliver complex and high‑profile network transformation programmes.
  • Delivering technology and IT‑based solutions with excellent knowledge and experience of systems and methodologies.
  • Managing vendors and integrating changes.
