This is a senior product leadership role with end‑to‑end accountability for the in‑home experience across BT Consumer’s home devices portfolio, including routers, mesh Wi‑Fi, extenders and the intelligence layer that connects them. The role defines and delivers the long‑term product strategy and roadmap, owning c.£200m of annual CapEx and balancing customer experience, operational performance and commercial outcomes. Operating across Consumer, Networks and Digital, the role leads large‑scale cross‑functional delivery and manages strategic external device and technology partners. It requires strong commercial judgement, deep experience across devices and connectivity, and the ability to influence and deliver outcomes at scale within a complex matrix environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the end‑to‑end in‑home experience across the home devices portfolio, including routers, mesh Wi‑Fi, extenders and the supporting software and intelligence layer.
- Define and deliver the long‑term product strategy and multi‑year roadmap, making clear trade‑offs across customer experience, operational performance and commercial outcomes.
- Hold accountability for c.£200m of annual CapEx, including device strategy, lifecycle management, unit economics and cost‑to‑serve optimisation.
- Lead cross‑functional delivery across Consumer, Networks and Digital teams, driving alignment and outcomes without direct authority over engineering resources.
- Manage strategic relationships with external device, silicon and technology partners, ensuring innovation, performance and cost efficiency.
- Build and lead a high‑performing product leadership team, setting clear standards for ownership, accountability and delivery at scale.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Senior product leadership experience owning complex, end‑to‑end portfolios, ideally across devices, software and connectivity.
- Proven commercial accountability, including ownership of large‑scale CapEx and/or P&L, with clear linkage between investment decisions and outcomes.
- Strong product strategy and roadmap leadership, with the ability to make and own difficult prioritisation and trade‑off decisions.
- Ability to influence and deliver at scale within a complex matrix, working effectively across Consumer, Networks, Digital and commercial teams without direct authority.
- Sufficient technical and domain knowledge of devices and in‑home technology to challenge suppliers, partners and senior technical stakeholders credibly.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Background in telco, connectivity, or device‑led consumer products environments.
- Experience with device lifecycle management and unit economics optimisation, including total cost of ownership.
- Familiarity with home networking technologies, CPE platforms and connectivity standards.
- Experience managing external device, silicon or ODM partners.
- Exposure to platform or ecosystem product models, including third‑party integrations or monetisation opportunities.
