How will you add value to the Open Payd journey?

  • Establish and lead Open Payd’s Quality Assurance function, including its operating model, governance arrangements and strategic roadmap.
  • Develop, own and maintain a robust, risk-based Quality Assurance framework.
  • Conduct objective, risk-based Quality Assurance reviews across customer onboarding and CDD/EDD, periodic and event-driven customer reviews, transaction monitoring, fraud-related activities, and payment operational processes.
  • Select and document review samples using a risk-based methodology, maintaining a clear evidence trail and appropriate independence from the activities under review.
  • Assess the quality, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of first-line case handling, investigations, risk assessments, approvals, documentation, and decision-making.
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of relevant first-line processes and controls, identifying deficiencies, inconsistencies, control weaknesses, and remediation needs.
  • Perform thematic reviews, identify emerging risks and recurring trends, and record and rate findings consistently.
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based reports, management information, and KPIs for senior management and governance committees.
  • Track remediation actions, validate completed corrective measures before closure, and escalate significant, overdue, or systemic issues appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with first-line teams, Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, Regulatory Compliance Monitoring, and other stakeholders, providing constructive feedback and professional challenge.
  • Support the continuous improvement and risk-based expansion of the Quality Assurance methodology, review programme, sampling approach, checklists, rating criteria, policies, procedures, controls, guidance, and training.

The ideal candidate will have the following

  • Experience in Leading the Quality Assurance, Compliance Assurance functions including: operational assurance, compliance monitoring, audit, or a similar oversight role, preferably within regulated financial services.
  • Min 8-10 Years of relevant experience with min. 4-5 years of lead/manager experience within QA function
  • Experience of overseeing QC 1st Line Function, conducting file or case reviews, control testing, or operational process reviews and documenting evidence-based conclusions.
  • Strong knowledge of KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and customer lifecycle management processes.
  • A good understanding of transaction monitoring, fraud controls, payment operations, and broader financial crime controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to assess complex cases and operational processes, apply policies and review criteria consistently, and present clear conclusions to different audiences.
  • Experience producing evidence-based reports and management information, analysing Quality Assurance data, and identifying trends and emerging issues.
  • Experience within fintech, payments, banking, or another regulated financial services environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory expectations and guidance, Quality Assurance methodologies, risk-based sampling, control testing, and relevant case-management systems is desirable.
