This role involves weekly on-site work, and you'll be required to travel regularly to client locations across the UK.

Due to the nature of this role, you must either hold active Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo the clearance process.

To succeed in this role, you'll have experience as a Software Developer and be able to demonstrate, with tangible examples, that you can:

~ Build high-quality, user-centred services using Java or Scala.

Select and apply additional languages, such as Kotlin, Ruby or Java Script, to deliver the right solutions.

Apply strong testing practices to ensure quality, reliability and confidence in your work.

Bring recent government (public sector) experience Deliver complex digital services aligned to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards Adapt to new technologies, continuously developing your skills and contributing across the stack.

Work effectively within agile teams to deliver value iteratively.

In addition to software engineering skills, there are essential core skills you'll need to be an Opencast consultant.

Lead the implementation of user stories from refinement through to completion.

Collaborate with others to deliver a strong, shared testing approach.
