The role involves day-to-day delivery of Opencast’s external marketing and internal communications activity. This is an entry-level role with a strong focus on administration, coordination, and internal/external event delivery alongside the delivery of social media campaigns and the creation of written content. You’ll be comfortable working in a hybrid way but will spend an average of 2 days per week in our Newcastle office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for marketing and internal communications activity, including maintaining plans and trackers and organising digital folders.
  • Coordinate workflows and tasks using our Jira tooling and manage our marketing and internal communication requests, triaging work effectively and communicating with internal teams to manage expectations.
  • Support supplier coordination and take responsibility for organising and monitoring stock (e.g. printed publications, merchandise etc.).
  • Support planning and delivery of internal and external events, including coordinating logistics with Opencast teams, partners and suppliers.
  • Manage event invitations and registrations, including the creation of Eventbrite events, and maintain accurate attendee lists.
  • Support the execution of social media campaigns, including scheduling agreed content, and ensuring a regular pipeline of content.
  • Amplify internal communications through reposting content on agreed internal communication channels (e.g. intranet, Microsoft Teams).
  • Support alignment of activity between internal communications and external marketing to ensure consistency and join up.
  • Provide ad-hoc support for business development and account teams, including refinement and proofreading go-to-market content (e.g. word documents, PowerPoint presentations).
  • Support with the tracking and reporting of marketing metrics, compiling reports and maintaining mailing lists and CRM systems where relevant.

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a safe pair of hands in delivery.
  • Proactive and positive ‘can-do’ mindset and willingness to get ‘stuck in’.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a professional audience.
  • True team player, comfortable working with colleagues and externals.
  • Experience in a marketing, events or communications role preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with project management tools preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred but not essential.

Salary £28,000 - £31,000 per annum.

Where you’ll work

This role requires regular on-site attendance at our HQ, hub offices, and client sites, as well as the ability to work from home. Applicants must be able to travel to offices and client sites across the UK as part of their normal working arrangements, as travel is essential for fulfilling the responsibilities of the role.
