The Quant Development unit of the Data Science team is looking for a Quant Developer that will be responsible for creating and maintaining sports betting forecasting models. The role will be based in London.
What you will be doing:
- Creates new player props markets from price feed and stats data.
- Adds significant new features and components to sports betting models to improve pricing in certain areas and markets.
- Owns the team's services such as Alerting for Traders.
- Manages data pipelines on the cloud and ensures they are efficient and scalable.
- Reduces tech debt whilst working on other tasks, for example introducing a new interface for market contracts.
- Collaborates and presents across team functions and communicates technical solutions effectively in Jira, Confluence and code.
- Works closely with product owners and software developers to move projects from idea to integration.
- Offers critical and concrete feedback in code reviews to ensure robust contributions like suggesting extra tests, spotting inconsistencies and helping resolve problems.
The Player:
- A postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of working experience or a PhD in a quantitative field.
- Advanced programming skills: (a) object-oriented programming (C# or Python) and (b) databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience with various modelling techniques (e.g. Probability Distributions, GLMs, Monte Carlo Simulations, Bayesian Inference, Time-Series Analysis etc.).
- A demonstrable interest in developing forecasting models for sports.
- A good understanding of betting concepts and markets.
Desirable Qualifications:
- 2+ years working experience in the betting industry.
- Knowledge of modern Machine Learning methodologies (e.g. Neural Networks, Random Forests, GBMs, SVMs etc.).
- Experience with cloud computing services.
- Experience with version control platforms (e.g. GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket etc.).
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.

- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- You must have a strong work ethic and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- You must be self-motivated, a team-player and a creative thinker.
