As part of our clients growth forecast, we now have an opening for a two-way radio bench engineer in their engineering department at their Headquarter in North West London. Being the UK's leading independent communications suppliers, specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of wireless voice and data networks. Our client has the largest dedicated radio engineering team in the UK. Each of their staff member is trained by every leading manufacturer to the highest standard and provided with the latest DMR and Tetra test sets to ensure even the latest equipment can be repaired to component level. They are now seeking a Bench Engineer to join this thriving business.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting & repair of high-end radio products down to the component level (These products will include portables, mobiles and repeaters)
- Having a good hand for soldering and identifying electronic components
- Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and service schedules to repair customer product
- Extensive troubleshooting to the component level for both analogue and digital
- Requesting of parts from Stockroom
- Filling out repair reports
- Communicating with customer by telephone
- Advising Supervisor of recurring problems
- Training lower level technicians
The candidate must meet daily production goals in a fast-paced environment, must have hands-on experience.
Qualifications
- Experience with RF communications and radio
- Understanding of RF theory and basic electronics to the component level
- Proficient in the use of a communications analyser, electrical circuit troubleshooting and operation of test equipment
