Open Reality is a value‑added distributor specialising in networking and AV/UC solutions. Founded in 1999, the company prides itself on expert understanding of wireless network best practices and vendors’ products to provide advice, feedback, and support that partners cannot get elsewhere. The Open Reality channel team works hand‑in‑hand with system integrators, ISPs and reseller partners across the UK to provide first‑class customer service and support every time.
Role Overview and Person Specification
We are looking for a proactive, self‑motivated and highly capable Marketing Manager to take ownership of Open Reality’s marketing activity across the business. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who is already operating independently as a marketing manager and is confident managing a broad range of marketing responsibilities without needing day‑to‑day supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, creating, delivering and measuring marketing activity across digital, content, email, social media, website, events and sales enablement.
As the sole marketing person within the business, you will need to be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable switching between strategic planning and practical delivery. One day you may be planning a campaign or coordinating an event, and the next you may be updating the website, building an email, creating a brochure, producing a slide deck or editing video content.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting sales growth, strengthening vendor relationships, improving customer engagement and ensuring Open Reality presents a consistent, professional and technically credible message to the IT channel. The role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their workload and can manage multiple projects at once. You will work closely with the Sales Director, sales team, vendor partners and external suppliers, including website developers, designers and other agencies where required.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Marketing Strategy and Campaign Delivery
- Plan and deliver marketing activity that supports Open Reality’s commercial objectives, vendor priorities and sales pipeline.
- Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of campaigns across email, social media, website, events and other channels.
- Work with the Sales Director and wider commercial team to identify marketing priorities, campaign opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Create marketing plans for key vendors, product launches, events, training courses and solution areas.
- Monitor campaign performance and use results to improve future activity.
- Content Creation and Sales Enablement
- Produce high‑quality marketing and sales enablement materials, including brochures, price books, datasheets, slide decks, product guides and campaign assets.
- Create clear, accurate and engaging content for a technical B2B audience, including resellers, MSPs, system integrators, engineers and IT decision‑makers.
- Work with vendor content, product information and internal expertise to create useful marketing materials that support the sales process.
- Maintain and improve existing marketing collateral to ensure it remains accurate, up to date and aligned with the Open Reality brand.
- Support the sales team with customer‑facing materials, presentations and campaign assets.
- Website and Digital Marketing
- Manage updates to the Open Reality website, including product pages, solution pages, blog content, landing pages and event pages.
- Work with external WordPress developers and other suppliers to deliver website improvements, resolve issues and support ongoing development.
- Ensure website content is accurate, well‑structured, search‑friendly and aligned with business priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve the user experience, lead generation and conversion across the website.
- Maintain consistency across digital channels and ensure all marketing activity supports the wider brand and commercial strategy.
- Email, CRM and Marketing Automation
- Plan, build and send email marketing campaigns to customers, prospects and channel partners.
- Segment audiences and tailor messaging to improve relevance and engagement.
- Use CRM and marketing automation platforms to manage campaigns, track performance and support lead generation activity.
- Maintain data quality and follow best practice around email marketing, consent and audience management.
- Report on campaign performance, including opens, clicks, engagement, leads and other relevant measures.
- Social Media and Communications
- Manage Open Reality’s social media activity, with a particular focus on LinkedIn.
- Create and schedule posts that promote vendors, products, events, training, resources and company news.
- Maintain a consistent tone of voice across social media and other communication channels.
- Identify opportunities to increase engagement with partners, vendors and the wider IT channel community.
- Support internal and external communications where required.
- Events and Webinars
- Plan, promote and support Open Reality events, webinars, training courses and partner activities.
- Coordinate event marketing activity, including invitations, landing pages, email campaigns, social posts, registration tracking and post‑event follow‑up.
- Use webinar and event platforms to manage registrations, attendee communications and reporting.
- Work with internal teams, vendors and external venues or suppliers to help deliver professional, well‑organised events.
- Produce event materials, presentations, signage and supporting content as required.
- Creative, Video and Design Support
- Produce basic graphical assets for campaigns, social media, website updates, presentations and printed materials.
- Carry out occasional video editing for social media, product promotion, event content and internal use.
- Use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar tools to create and edit marketing assets.
- Ensure creative work is consistent with Open Reality’s brand and suitable for the intended audience and channel.
- Supplier and Agency Management
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and agencies, including WordPress developers, designers, printers, venues and other marketing partners.
- Brief suppliers clearly and ensure work is delivered on time, to a high standard and in line with business requirements.
- Review supplier output, provide feedback and coordinate approvals where required.
- Help ensure external marketing spend is used effectively and delivers value to the business.
