We're looking for a Sales & Events Manager to step into the team while our permanent lead is on maternity leave. This is a hospitality role through and through: fast-moving, guest-facing, and built on relationships, not just spreadsheets. You'll need to hit the ground running, which is why we're after someone who already knows the rhythm of a busy venue and can read a room, a function sheet, and a client all at once.
You won't be doing this alone. You'll have a Group Head of Sales & Events and an Events Executive supporting you, so it's real ownership with a safety net.
What you'll do:
- Drive pre-booked revenue across corporate events, private dining, and celebrations at The Italian Greyhound, with visibility across Boxcar too.
- Manage enquiries from first contact to final handover, build proposals that feel tailored rather than templated, and make sure every event lands well for guests and teams alike.
- Convert enquiries and build real relationships with corporate and private clients.
- Write proposals that balance guest experience with commercial sense, and upsell naturally where it adds value.
- Run function sheet meetings so venue teams walk in fully briefed, no surprises on the floor.
- Keep the pipeline and client database sharp, with regular reporting on performance.
- Partner with marketing on campaigns and event-led activity.
- Be a calm, capable presence for clients and teams during a busy, high-pressure season.
What you'll bring:
- Proper hospitality experience in sales and events, ideally in restaurants or venues where service pace and guest experience matter as much as the numbers.
- Comfortable stepping into an existing operation mid-flow, understanding unwritten rules as quickly as the written ones, and keeping standards high without needing to reinvent the wheel.
- Confidence with clients, sharp organisation, and a genuine feel for hospitality's rhythm are all essential.
Why this role:
This is a chance to take real ownership of a commercial function at a growing, independent group, with proper support around you and a defined runway. If you thrive on the pace of hospitality and want nine months of meaningful, hands-on impact, this is built for you.
