An overview of the role: Works independently to own outcomes for a product area. Integrates customer insight, commercial thinking, and delivery flow to shape outcome-based roadmaps and measurable impact.
Your key responsibilities:
- Vision & outcomes: Define problem statements, success metrics, and outcome-based roadmaps for the domain.
- Commercial & GTM: Contribute to pricing/packaging hypotheses and launch plans with Sales/Marketing.
- Backlog ownership: Accountable for translating outcomes into epics and user stories, ensuring an appropriate balance between features, defects, and technical debt.
- Delivery leadership: Set sprint goals; validate increments; manage release scope and readiness.
- Insights & analytics: Run discovery, experiments, and telemetry reviews; iterate based on evidence.
- Cross-functional alignment: Coordinate Engineering, Design, CS/Support, Finance/Legal/Security as needed. Own and actively contribute to candidate initiatives during PI and quarterly planning ceremonies. Maintain and ensure accuracy of Product Decision Records (PDRs). Communicate roadmap progress clearly and regularly to business stakeholders. Accountable for managing the budget in alignment with product initiatives and ensuring delivery of ROI. Validate strategic hypotheses and market opportunities through customer, competitor and data driven analysis, translating these into product decisions and providing clear feedback to feed into ongoing product strategy. Evaluate how approved partners deliver value within the product by validating customer impact, product fit and feasibility. Translate opportunities with partners into product initiatives.
- Collaboration & Stakeholders: Collaborates with Engineering, Design, Data/Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, Finance, Legal, and Security. Operates a shared cadence of Quarterly (strategy/OKRs), Monthly (performance & market review), Bi-weekly (planning/review/retro), and Continuous (customer touchpoints, risk tracking).
- Decision Rights & Success Measures: Decision Rights: Owns the domain’s what/why within product strategy, aligned to overall business strategy and priorities; partners with Engineering on how/when at the team level. Success Measures: Adoption/activation, retention, domain revenue impact, predictability/quality, and OKR progress.
