Are you excited by using creativity, insight and digital storytelling to connect people with the persecuted church and inspire them to pray, advocate and take action?
Open Doors is a Christian charity that is looking to recruit active, practicing Christians to stand in the GAP (give, act, pray) on behalf of persecuted Christians worldwide. Every day, millions of Christians risk their lives to follow Jesus. In more than 70 countries, Open Doors supports them by supplying Bibles, providing emergency relief and helping persecuted believers stand strong for the long-term.
As our Social Media Manager, you will lead the day-to-day management and development of Open Doors UK & Ireland’s organic social media channels, creating engaging content that connects new and existing audiences with the reality of the persecuted church. Working within our organisational, campaign and digital strategies, you will create, adapt and optimise content for different platforms and audiences, ensuring our social media presence is consistent, relevant and effective.
Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Content, Creative, Youth, Advocacy and PR, you will provide social media expertise and ensure our activity is integrated with wider campaigns and supporter journeys. You will play a key role in growing and engaging audiences, responding to opportunities in real time and helping people move from awareness to meaningful action through prayer, advocacy, giving and deeper engagement with Open Doors. You will also lead community engagement across our channels, ensuring comments, messages and enquiries are handled appropriately and effectively.
A key part of the role will be using data and audience insight to understand what is working and identify opportunities to improve. You will monitor and analyse social media performance, provide regular reporting and use your findings to shape future content and strategy. You will stay ahead of platform developments and social media trends, identifying opportunities for innovation, influencer collaboration and reactive content, while bringing your expertise and recommendations to teams across the organisation.
You will have the opportunity to use your God-given character and talents to contribute to the work of Open Doors and to work with integrity and with purpose. We offer a flexible role with a good work-life balance, huge job satisfaction and employee benefits.
