Open Door Project CIC is seeking an IT Skills Tutor to support women from migrant and refugee backgrounds to build confidence using technology in a safe, women-only learning space.

About Open Door Project CIC

We work with women who may face multiple barriers to learning and employment. Our sessions are inclusive, trauma-informed, and designed to be welcoming, supportive, and empowering.

About the role

  • You will deliver basic digital skills sessions, supporting learners who may have little or no previous experience with computers or smartphones.
  • Teach basic IT skills such as using a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Support learners with email, internet use, and online forms.
  • Introduce Microsoft Word / Google Docs for simple documents.
  • Help learners build confidence using technology independently.
  • Adapt sessions to different learning levels and needs.
  • Work alongside bilingual and learning support staff.

About you

  • Patient, kind, and encouraging.
  • Confident explaining IT skills in simple, clear language.
  • Comfortable working with beginners.
  • Passionate about digital inclusion.

Experience & qualifications

  • Experience teaching or supporting IT skills is helpful but not essential.
  • Community work or lived experience welcomed.
  • No formal teaching qualifications required.

Languages especially welcome: Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Tigrinya, Turkish, Farsi/Dari, Pashto, Sudanese Arabic, Romanian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian.
