Working in our Chief Technology Office (CTO) the CTO division is where Open Cosmos technology comes to life. Covering engineering, product development, and technical innovation, the team designs, builds, and operates the satellites, systems, and platforms that make our missions possible. It’s a highly collaborative environment where ideas become real hardware, software, and data solutions that deliver impact from space.
The AIT team is the workshop for Open Cosmos satellite missions! The team provide engineering support during the design phase then actually build and test the satellite.
What will you be doing?
- Building and testing our satellites is at the heart of an AIT Engineer's job. You’ll also integrate them into the launcher ready for the journey ahead!
- You will be planning and executing AIT campaigns from first engineering models until launch.
- Functional and environmental testing are key to success!
- You will also support aspects relating to quality and stock management, keeping clear and appropriate documentation.
- Throughout all stages you are engaging with colleagues from R&D and project management departments.
What you need to be successful:
- You’ll need to be an all-rounder, with hands-on skills in mechanical and electrical assembly, as well as operating Linux systems.
- You’ll have strong knowledge of satellite systems and common AIT processes.
- You’ll know the practical implications of working in a clean room and lab environment.
- You’ll be proactive and curious in your approach to work, always looking for more effective ways of doing things.
