As an experienced, HCPC registered Orthotist, you will continue to develop your career within Opcare by delivering exceptional, patient-centred care to a diverse caseload, including both routine and complex, multifactorial needs. You will work autonomously undertaking comprehensive assessments, prescribing and fitting orthoses, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals. The role works closely with the NHS administration team and it is a requirement to build and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders in the service.
Main duties of the job:
- Demonstrate extensive clinical experience across a wide range of patient groups and conditions, using advanced problem solving and clinical reasoning to deliver evidence based care.
- Work independently within established protocols, adhering to prescription guidelines with minimal supervision.
- Provide expert second opinions and clinical leadership, contributing to multidisciplinary team (MDT) decision making and supporting the management of complex cases.
- Maintain a strong awareness of key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring clinical practice aligns with service expectations and supporting colleagues to achieve performance standards.
- Positively and proactively contribute to service development and identify improvement opportunities within area of responsibility.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an Orthotist who wants to progress to a Senior Orthotist; it will provide clinical development through exposure to a wide range of orthotic clinics across the Gloucestershire region, making it ideal for clinicians who want to progress their clinical knowledge, thrive on variety, autonomy and professional growth.
Skills and Experience:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including formal and informal communication.
- Proven record of working within an active, fast-paced clinical environment.
- Working proactively and collaboratively in the team and wider trust.
- Interest in service development and/or evidence of involvement.
- Able to prioritise, plan and organise efficiently and work with multiple conflicting priorities.
- Published evidence of specialist work within clinical field.
- Sound working knowledge of REHAPP Opcare's clinical management system.
- Experience mentoring students or graduates.
- Knowledge or experience with CAD CAM.
Qualifications:
- BSc Hons in Prosthetics and Orthotics, or equivalent.
- HCPC registered.
- Full driving licence.
- Relevant MSc, or postgraduate qualifications in a clinical area.
- Practice educator training.
- BAPO member.
- ISPO member.
