We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orthotist to join our team at an exciting time of growth and transformation. The new contract covers 3 different NHS Trusts in North Lincolnshire and Goole (NLAG), York & Scarborough (Y&S), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals (HUTH). This role is to work predominantly within our new Orthotics clinics in Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Goole and their associated local satellites, but may require travel to other areas both inside and outside of this contract as reasonably required by the company.

As an HCPC registered clinician within Opcare, you will competently and confidently assess, prescribe, and fit orthotic and/or prosthetic devices for routine patient presentations, across a range of clinical settings. You will work autonomously within your scope of practice to manage appropriate interventions, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care. In addition to direct clinical responsibilities, you will actively contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives under guidance. You will also support the professional development, mentorship, and supervision of graduate and undergraduate colleagues. All activities will be undertaken in line with NHS values and Opcare's commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care.

Main duties of the job

  • Delivers autonomous, patient-centred care, independently managing routine and moderately complex cases, and seeking guidance for more challenging situations.
  • Applies sound clinical reasoning and experience across patient groups to ensure accurate device design, fitting, and adjustment using clinical and technical skills.
  • Contributes to audits, service evaluations and research activities with guidance as needed, supporting data collection and reflective learning.
  • Manages clinical equipment and resources responsibly, with awareness of cost-effectiveness and service sustainability.
  • Maintains accurate clinical records and contributes to audits and quality improvement initiatives to support safe, effective, and continuously evolving patient care.

Skills and Experience

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including formal and informal communication.
  • Proven record of working within an active, fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Experience of having a collaborative role in an MDT environment.
  • Working proactively and collaboratively in the team and wider trust.
  • Interest in service development and/or evidence of involvement.
  • Able to prioritise, plan and organise efficiently and work with multiple conflicting priorities.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Completion of Opcare's graduate scheme (or similar).
  • Full driving licence.
  • BAPO member.
  • ISPO member.
