We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to provide both clinical and operational leadership within our Wheelchair Service based in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated healthcare professional to influence service delivery, drive quality improvement, and shape the future direction of clinical practice. In this role, you will balance autonomous patient care with leadership responsibilities, including clinical governance, service development, quality improvement, staff development, and line management. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care, service performance, and KPI achievement, while fostering a positive and supportive team culture. As Clinical Lead, you will champion evidence-based practice, embedding a consistent and standardised clinical approach across the service. You will lead the implementation of clinical protocols, support professional development within the team, and drive continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes and experience. Working closely with senior management, you will contribute to organisational strategy, provide expert clinical insight, and represent the service with external stakeholders. You will lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Line management of the clinical team, responsible for performance management, development, recruitment and appraisal processes.
- Oversee daily clinical operations, including workload management across the team, resource allocation, and operational efficiency to deliver seamless patient care whilst meeting KPI targets.
- Promote a positive, supportive team culture that balances high-quality patient care with staff wellbeing, professional development and organisational performance targets.
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards and protocols and leads by example following prescription guidelines/matrix and associated targets and is responsible for embedding these with the team.
- Manage own clinical caseload alongside leadership duties, maintaining expertise in assessment, prescription, and treatment planning.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience (post-graduation) in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- Strong clinical experience, with leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven experience of working effectively within a team environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Qualifications:
- BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- HCPC registered.
