We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and ambitious Workshop Technician to join our team in Exeter. Exeter Mobility Centre is a leading Orthotic and Prosthetic service, delivering expert care and innovative solutions to improve mobility and independence. Our integrated team of clinicians, administrators, and skilled technicians work together to provide a seamless patient experience. With on-site manufacturing and a dedicated workshop of 9 technicians, we design and produce bespoke prosthetic and orthotic devices tailored to individual needs ensuring quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture high-quality jobs tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment in line with health and safety standards.
- Manage stock and materials effectively, including accurate booking out and monitoring usage.
- Collaborate closely with clinicians and technical colleagues to ensure successful patient outcomes.
- Ensure quality control and timely delivery of all manufactured devices to meet service standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Effective working within a team.
- Capable of meeting the physical requirements of the job.
- Excellent practical skills and experience of using tools and workshop equipment.
- Good organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn new processes.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Flexible and helpful attitude.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH.
- Good understanding of stock and material handling.
- Previous technical and workshop experience.
- A sound working knowledge of IT systems: including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Qualifications:
- No formal qualifications are required for this post, but a good standard level of education, alongside demonstrated transferable skills.
- Technical Qualification or Experience.
