Senior Quantity Surveyor
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the cost management and contractual aspects of projects, providing expertise and guidance to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in quantity surveying, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Cost Management
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and project budgets.
- Monitor costs, identify savings, and manage variances.
- Advise on cost planning and procurement strategies.
Contract Management
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage construction contracts, including variations and disputes.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Support teams on contractual matters and resolve issues promptly.
Tendering & Procurement
- Manage the tender process from document preparation to supplier selection.
- Negotiate terms with suppliers and subcontractors for best outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Implement cost control measures to stay within budget.
- Produce regular cost reports and forecasts, highlighting variances.
- Analyse performance and recommend corrective actions.
Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Guide teams in effective risk management throughout projects.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and coach junior surveyors.

Skills and Experience
• Bachelor\’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
• Chartered status with the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) is desirable.
• Extensive experience in quantity surveying, including proven track record of managing complex construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and make informed decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
