Role Overview
You are a qualified time served HV Fitter/ Wireman with experience of working in an industrial environment.
The project will involve installing HV disconnectors, transformers, surge arrestors, CTs, capacitor banks, SFCs, switchgear, panels, and cabling.
This role is based in the Stafford area.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installation of both AIS and GIS substation equipment.
- Installations of HV equipment such as Power transformers, up to 400kV, Earth Switches, Disconnnectors, CTs, Protection panels, Battery chargers, SCADA panels etc within new or existing substations to ensure compliance with DNO/IDNO specifications.
- Installation and maintenance of switchgear from low voltage up to 400kV, including GIS.
- Installations of sub-station earthing to specified drawings. Experience with oxygen and propane brazing or exothermic welding would be an advantage.
- Carry out testing and inspection of installations such as cable testing (IR testing, continuity) Ductor testing and recording results.
