We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team for daytime shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries to deliver goods across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills, with an emphasis on commercial driving standards. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a reputable logistics company committed to high standards of service.
Duties:
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 Container lorries during day shifts, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
- Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner, maintaining professional customer service at all times.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and mileage logs.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including compliance with load securing regulations.
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to management for resolution.
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months experience with current licence.
- Minimum Age VANS - 18.
- Minimum Age C1 – 21.
- If booked as Class 1, may be times when required to drive C2 or even Van; will still pay C1 rate if that’s what’s been booked.
- Fleet majority Scania’s.
- Multi-drop refrigeration experience preferred.
- Minimal handball.
- 10+ jobs per day deliveries and collections which requires pallets to be moved to be able to be unloaded.
- Days start times 03:00am-10:00am.
- Average 13-hour days with some 15-hour days.
- Planned nights out may be required.
