Ooni, the awardâwinning company that launched the world's first portable woodâpellet pizza oven, is looking for a Senior Engineer, Electronics to drive the next generation of our products.
In this handsâon, highly technical role you'll lead electronics development across the entire product lifecycle, from breadboard prototypes to productionâready highâvolume solutions. You'll collaborate closely with manufacturing partners in the AsiaâPacific region and report to the Head of Design and Innovation.
Key Responsibilities- ConceptâtoâPrototype Development: Own the process of turning ideas into physical electronic systems, from initial breadboarding to fully functioning prototype rigs.
- Specification & Documentation: Generate electronics requirements and translate them into actionable design documents.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work with manufacturing partners to scale solutions from prototype to production.
- Testing & Validation: Lead test programs for electronic components, ensuring reliability, compliance, and performance.
- Technical Leadership: Act as the subjectâmatter expert for electronics within the product team.
- CrossâFunctional Support: Provide technical input to product design engineers, category managers, and customer experience teams.
We're looking for a technically strong, detailâoriented engineer who enjoys turning ideas into working prototypes and navigating the full product development cycle. You thrive in a fastâpaced, innovative environment and collaborate effectively with crossâfunctional teams.
Essential Skills & Experience- Significant experience in electronics engineering, preferably in a product development environment.
- BEng or MEng in Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a closely related discipline.
- "Failâfast" mentality â willing to test, learn, and iterate rapidly.
- Strong communication skills to simplify complex information for nonâtechnical audiences.
- Proficient in PCB design principles, schematic capture, simulation and layout.
- Experience with Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar EDA tools.
- Knowledge of power delivery systems (mains, USBâPD, batteries, switching regulators).
- Familiarity with common embedded communication protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, etc.).
- Experience designing for actuators, sensors, and control systems.
- Knowledge of lithium battery systems and BMS.
- Understanding of PCB design for EMI/EMC immunity.
- Ability to write and debug simple C/C++ scripts for prototyping.
- Understanding of controlâsystem design, particularly PID control algorithms.
- Handsâon experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
- Experience with IEC 60335 safety standards.
- Experience designing for EMC compliance and IEC 61000 standards.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- ÂŁ1,000 annual spend on Ooni products plus 50% discount on all other Ooni products.
