  • Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week - hybrid)
  • 25 days holiday (rising to 28 after 3 years’ service) plus bank holidays.

The Role

This Accounts Assistant role reports to a Management Accountant.

It is an entry into Finance and is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in Finance.

The role supports day-to-day financial processes to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of the monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly analyses of reports to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Maintain and update financial records, including data entry into accounting systems.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with audits and requests for financial information by providing accurate documentation.
  • Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries, building effective relationships and providing excellent support to colleagues across the business.
  • Work with wider Finance Teams to help drive business performance.

Qualifications / What you’ll need

  • A desire to start a career in a finance role.
  • Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel including LOOKUPs & Pivot tables.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A willingness to learn and develop.
