Are you an Analytical Chemist looking to develop your career in a fast-growing Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) where your work can help bring life-changing medicines to patients? At Onyx Scientific, we partner with academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical organisations worldwide, providing innovative services from early discovery through to commercial manufacture. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Analytical Chemist to join our Analytical Services team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, well-equipped laboratory, supporting both research and manufacturing activities while developing your technical expertise in a dynamic scientific environment.

The Role

As an Analytical Chemist, you will support analytical testing activities across the business while ensuring work is carried out to GMP standards and in line with our commitment to quality and scientific excellence. You will work closely with colleagues across analytical, research, and manufacturing teams, contributing to projects for a wide range of global clients.

  • Perform calibrations and verifications for analytical laboratory equipment
  • Maintain GMP standards and ensure accurate documentation in line with ALCOA++ principles
  • Conduct analytical work using techniques such as HPLC, GC, FT-IR, LC-MS, and wet chemistry methods
  • Maintain a high standard of laboratory cleanliness and organisation
  • Liaise with senior analytical staff and cross-functional teams where required
  • Ensure all analysis, calibrations, and verifications are recorded to GMP standards

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and motivated to develop their analytical chemistry career within a pharmaceutical environment.

  • Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, FT-IR, LC-MS, and wet chemistry
  • Strong laboratory safety awareness
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to interpret analytical data and identify potential issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Advantageous experience:

  • Chiral HPLC / GC Method development
  • Working within a cGMP environment
